Deer Harvest Regulations Study Partners

Picture

Funding for this project is provided by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Michigan DNR and MSU Joint Wildlife Disease Initiative.

We are grateful to the many private landowners in mid-Michigan who allowed our researchers to place a trail camera and capture photos of deer on their property. This study could not have been conducted without their assistance and cooperation.

We have captured more than 1 million trail camera photos to date for this study. Initial review of photos is conducted using MegaDetector, which filters out all images without animals. This tool has greatly increased our efficiency when reviewing camera-trap photos!
